About Us

Skrobacz & Company was founded in 1979 by Joseph Skrobacz, with a focus on the needs of small and medium sized businesses common to Western New York. We offer personalized service and consistent staffing at reasonable rates on our client engagements.

Our firm’s three partners have been together over 25 years and have been successful at long-term staff development. Our clients tell us that our continuity and stability are key factors in their decision to do business with us.

We have worked with clients in a wide variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing and distribution, professional services, medical practices, real estate, auto dealerships, retail and restaurants to name a few.

Our firm is also enrolled in the Peer Review Program administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. This program is our profession’s way of ensuring standards of engagement performance are maintained at a high level. We have undergone eleven reviews, the most recent being October 2022, and have received the best possible result each time.

Our Team

Joseph L. Skrobacz, CPA

Mr. Skrobacz has served as the firm’s Managing Partner since founding the firm in 1979. He is a certified public accountant and specializes in tax, accounting and related planning services to businesses and their owners throughout Western New York, other states, and Canada. He also serves as the firm’s business valuation expert has extensive experience in merger and acquisition engagements.

Mr. Skrobacz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Canisius College. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Skrobacz has been involved in various church and community activities. He was the Treasurer for the Agape Parents Fellowship for over twenty years. He and his wife reside in Lancaster, New York.

Robert D. Yalowich, CPA

Mr. Yalowich is a Certified Public Accountant and is a Partner at Skrobacz and Company, CPA’s, P.C. He provides tax, accounting, and related planning services to businesses and individuals throughout Western New York, other states, and Canada. Mr. Yalowich has considerable experience in international taxation and in planning and compliance issues related to cross-border tax.

He received a B.B.A. degree in accounting from St. Bonaventure University. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Yalowich currently serves on the Zoological Society of Buffalo Foundation Board of Directors as Treasurer. Past community involvement includes serving as a board member for MusicalFare Theater and chairing the financial task force for the Community Action Partnership for Healthy Lifestyles, Inc., and as a member of the finance committee for GRROWLS-NY, Inc. He and his wife Darlene reside in Cheektowaga, New York.

John R Armstrong, CPA

Mr. Armstrong is a Certified Public Accountant and is a Partner at Skrobacz and Company, CPA’s, P.C. He provides tax, accounting, and related planning services to businesses and individuals throughout Western New York.

He received an MBA in Professional Accounting degree from Canisius College. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Sherry A. Mueller, CPA

Ms. Mueller is a Partner at Skrobacz and Company, CPA’s, P.C. She is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of experience. She provides tax, accounting and related planning services to businesses and their owners throughout Western New York and other states.

She received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is a Certified QuickBooks Proadvisor. Ms. Mueller is also a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Ms. Mueller has been a member of Zonta International, and the Cheektowaga-Lancaster Zonta Club since 2002, and has served as Treasurer of the Cheektowaga-Lancaster Club.

Christopher Ham, CPA

Mr. Ham, a Principal with the firm, is a Certified Public Accountant specializing in auditing, accounting, and taxation of businesses and non-profits. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management and is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He lives with his wife Sarah, their four children, and their dog, in Buffalo, New York.
